About Us
Riverbluff Retrievers: Our beautifully constructed kennel is located on 9 1/2 acres in scenic Radford, Virginia. Our property sits above the New River and has its own small natural pond. The kennel building has large covered runs for our adult dogs and a heated fully equipped puppy room for our mother dogs and their new babies. Our dogs have ample room to run and play on our property and we all enjoy our daily outtings to play ball and train. We spend many hours socializing our new babies. They have the luxury of being around our children from the time they are born. All of our dogs love children and spend much time around our three children. My husband and I are both veterinarians. We graduated from the Virginia-Maryland regional college of Veterinary medicine in 1996 and 1992, respectively. I have a long history with show dogs and spent many weekends showing Afghan Hounds before going to Vet school. Though I will always love Afghans, we decided on a more family oriented breed for our kennel. Labrador Retrievers were an easy choice for us. My husband enjoys hunting and has great hopes for a few future hunting companions and field trial dogs. We have expanded in to the cross breeds to help those families with allergy issues that still want a fun loving Retriever personality for thier pet. Two of my siblings have suffered from allergies for years, but love dogs. So I completely understand the desire to have a pet, even when allergies are an issue. The poodle cross breeds tend to lessen the allergies and shedding issues presented by their purebred counter parts.
Health Guarantee: Our puppies come with a 2 year health guarantee for congenital problems. If problems occur, a replacement puppy will be given as soon as a puppy becomes available. Each new owner also has 5 working days from the date of purchase to have the puppy examined by a veterinarian. If there is a problem with the puppy, the puppy can be returned for a full refund. All of our puppies have received their first vaccinations and have been dewormed twice, before they go to their new homes. Each puppy is examined multiple times as they are growing to ensure they are in good health. As a veterinarian, health is of the utmost importance and we strive to make sure your new puppy is as healthy as possible.
Deposits for Puppies: Our puppy prices are $950 for AKC registered Labs (Limited registration), $1600 for open registration for reputable breeders, $1000 for Standard Labradoodles, $1200-1400 for mini Labradoodles and $1500 for Golden Doodles. We are accepting deposits at this time to hold a particular puppy you may like. The deposit is $250 for Labs, and $300 for Doodles and is nonrefundable. In the event, the timing for your puppy is not right for your family or unforseen circumstances occur, a deposit can be held for a future litter. However, please keep in mind, we are a very small kennel and have puppies available only a few times a year.
